THE GAMING TABLE

The cutest number I've ever seen,
Was 28 and black,
No matter how I'd tried to lose,
She'd always bring me back.

I'd wager on old seventeen,
And lose sure as you're born,
And do a street or line bet then,
And wind up quite forlorn.

Then suddenly I'd see her there,
And 28, she'd smiled at me,
So bet I would, straight up to win,
And stand back hopefully.

And the croupier would spin the wheel,
It didn't matter how,
For when the ball would come to rest,
It'd be 28, somehow.

Yes, she's quite a number to be sure,
On the top third of the rack,
My old reliable, trusted friend,
Old 28 and black.
